Message from Dr. Mark Swanson
Dean of the Faculty of Education
As Dean of Education, I am very proud of our students, the faculty members and the special features of our innovative two year after degree B.Ed program in Elementary Education. We offer teacher preparation of the highest quality for graduates to begin teaching in public schools in Alberta and right across Canada and the United States.
Our program is small in size which allows students to have personal contact with committed professors, all of whom are certified experienced classroom teachers. Our partnerships with schools and practicing teachers are important to us as we work together to help student teachers acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes so necessary to become successful professional teachers. At Concordia, we also provide students with opportunities to take part in our mentorship program which is designed to encourage, support and guide students throughout their teacher preparation.
We value the diversity of all our students and welcome those of all beliefs and religious denominations. We believe that teaching is one of the most challenging and rewarding careers and we invite you to contact us at Concordia to further explore your interest in becoming a teacher.
